Family Relationships
How many family members can you name right now? Family members vocabulary is one of the first things that comes up in real conversation, from introducing yourself to talking about your personal life.
In this activity, you will learn the names of immediate family members such as parents, son, and daughter, as well as extended family including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. You will also learn how to describe the relationships between them using natural English sentences.
Through vocabulary practice and interactive exercises, you will build the confidence to talk about your own family and understand others when they talk about theirs.
Immediate Family
This is an ordinary family. Check below the names of each family member.




- Child is singular and children is plural. Example: "One child" or "two children".
- The word child is gender-neutral. It can be used for boys or girls.
Extended Family
These are family members beyond the immediate family.




- Uncle and aunt can be blood related (your parent's brother or sister) or by marriage.
- The word cousin is gender-neutral. It can be used for boys or girls.
