Following Work Instructions
Every day at work, people give and receive spoken instructions: a manager explaining a new task, a colleague asking you to handle something while they are away, a team leader running through the steps of a process. Understanding exactly what you need to do, and in what order, is one of the most practical listening skills you can develop in a professional environment.
In this activity, you will listen to a recording of spoken instructions in a workplace context. You will practise listening for specific details, identifying the sequence of tasks, and picking out key action words. You will also work with vocabulary related to office tasks and professional requests.
By the end of this activity, you will be able to understand and follow spoken work instructions in English at B1 level, correctly identifying the main tasks, the order they need to be completed in, and any important conditions or exceptions mentioned by the speaker.
